French for Rabbits- Videos & Remixes

Hibernating in Winter can be nice. But I also get nervous at the way time slips by so quickly. Here are two sleepy songs for the winter. I think really in essence, we are a winter band.

PLAN remixed our song 'Claimed by the Sea'. It is perhaps the 3am version.

I went on an adventure up a hill with two dear friends. We drunk chamomile tea and ate chocolate beneath a fern shaped like an umbrella. This little video somehow happened along the way. As always, it's the little things in the video that I like the most (the high-five, the shared smiles)

Till next time..

Tour photographs

Good day to you all.

Just a quick note to say, we really enjoyed our New Zealand tour. We were very humbled by how many people came along to our shows. We saw some wild goats traveling through Taranaki, and John even found the time to go surfing at least 4 times.

I am already thinking of the next tour, and album...any suggestions send them our way (frenchforrabbits@gmail.com) we would love to hear them, and come visit your town. We are so keen to come overseas too....

Here are some photographs from our Wellington show at The Moorings, taken by our friend Michael Edge-Perkins

Our Ep 'Claimed by the Sea' Out Today!

Hello Rabbit friends and followers. Our EP 'Claimed by the Sea' is out today. We are really happy about it, and rather gobsmacked that so many people have been listening. 1000 people in a day and a half. I think that must be our new record.

You can have a listen for yourself, or even buy a digital copy for just $6 New Zealand Dollars! We will also have hard copies available from the 9th March for $10+postage which we will wrap with care, attach a little note and send to you.

French for Rabbits release debut EP ‘Claimed by the Sea’ and announce March/April Tour Dates

Home Alone Music is pleased to announce that the dreamy wellington folk duo French for Rabbits have released their nautically themed debut EP ‘Claimed by the Sea’ on March 1st 2012.

They will be touring their beguiling songs around the country in March and April on a New Zealand tour, performing at intimate venues along the way. These will include an acoustic show at the Theatrette in Oamaru, and a special performance at Wellington's magnificent ballroom, The Moorings.

For the uninitiated, French for Rabbits’ music is reminiscent of Marissa Nadler, Cat Power and Bon Iver. It has been described by bloggers as “beautifully enchanted” and “haunting, to say the least”.

Originally from Christchurch, French for Rabbits consists of vocalist and pianist Brooke Singer, who previously played in the much-loved Ragamuffin Children folk band and shoegaze outfit The O’Lovelys, and guitarist John Fitzgerald.
